Frequently Asked Questions
Learn about how ABA therapy can support your child
-
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy is a science based approach that helps children learn skills like communication, social interaction, and independence while reducing behaviors that interfere with learning.
-
All therapy is currently provided by a BCBA. As we grow, highly trained BTs and RBTs will provide therapy under the direct supervision of your child’s BCBA.
-
A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is a master-level clinician who designs and oversees therapy plans, tracks progress, trains staff, and works closely with families to ensure skills learned in therapy carry over to everyday life.
-
A Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) has completed training, passed a competency assessment, and a national certification exam. RBTs receive ongoing training and supervision from your child’s BCBA.
-
A Behavior Technician (BT) has completed classroom and hands-on training. At Rocket Learning Center, BTs only provide 1:1 therapy after passing a competency assessment and under close BCBA supervision.
-
An autism diagnosis is often required by insurance to cover ABA therapy, but no referral is needed to contact us or schedule a free introduction call.
-
Therapy hours vary depending on your child’s needs, goals, and insurance. We work with families to create a schedule that supports progress while fitting into their daily routines. Caregivers also typically attend 1-2 hours of monthly meetings to support learning outside of therapy.
-
Sessions are tailored to your child and often incorporate learning into play. Some structured activities may also occur, depending on your child’s needs. Therapy always includes your child’s interests and meets them where they are in their learning journey.
-
No. Stimming is natural. If a behavior is unsafe (like head banging) or significantly impacts daily life, we work with you and your child to find safer or more functional alternatives.
-
We provide compassionate, play-based ABA therapy that is personalized for your child. As a BCBA-owned company, we focus on clinical quality and staff training to ensure your child receives the best care. Your child and family are the center of everything we do.
